Each year at Thomas Gainsborough School in Great Cornard all student houses fundraise for a charity of their choice. In the last academic year house Houghton chose Suffolk Family Carers for their fundraising efforts. With the help of Mrs Power and other teachers, the students kicked off fundraising with their famous chocolate tombola. They also introduced ‘TGS Has Got Talent’, where the school saw magicians, crazy scientists, musicians, dancers and singers. This event raised a fantastic £450. They rounded up the year with an ice cream sale at lunchtimes during the summer term.
We’d like to send a huge thank you to the teachers and students of Thomas Gainsborough School for a fantastic donation of over £900.
Thomas Gainsborough School received the Platinum Schools Award for the support they offer their Young Carers.
