Enjoy a FREE Family Day Out
At Suffolk Family Carers, we understand how vital it is for family carers to take time out and recharge. That’s why we’re delighted to offer a range of fully funded days out for you and your family. Whether it’s visiting National Trust properties, exploring the hands-on exhibits and heritage of The Food Museum in Stowmarket, meeting rare animals at Baylham Rare Breeds, or enjoying some fun on the farm at Easton Farm Park, these experiences are designed to bring joy, connection, and a well-earned pause from daily responsibilities.
Each outing is free for family carers registered with us and includes entry for multiple guests, making it a perfect opportunity to create lasting memories together.
The Food Museum
Set across 75 acres, the Food Museum explores the heritage of food through 17 historic buildings and 40,000 objects. Enjoy hands-on experiences, from farming to food-making, and discover how food connects culture, history, and community. Walk through the gardens or take part in daily talks or tours.
Easton Farm Park
Easton Farm Park offers family fun in 35 acres of Suffolk countryside. Meet rare animals, enjoy daily interactive activities, ride the Barrel Bug and Family Train, and let kids explore the adventure play area. With indoor soft play and the Willow Barn Café, it’s perfect in any weather.
Baylham Rare Breeds
Baylham House Rare Breeds Farm offers a hands-on countryside experience with rare native animals, seasonal events and scenic spots for picnics. Families can enjoy play areas, woodland walks, and fresh local food, all in an accessible, welcoming environment perfect for all ages.
Ickworth Estate
With over 1800 acres of parkland, gardens to enjoy, Ickworth Estate is the perfect place to get back to nature. Discover formal gardens, pleasure grounds, rolling Suffolk landscape and woodlands all of which invite gentle strolls, long walks, runs, bike rides and picnics.You can also head into the Rotunda and see Ickworth's treasures.
Melford Hall
Melford Hall has had its share of trials and tribulations, but it’s thanks to many generations from medieval monks to the Hyde Parker family who still live here, that this home still stands. Around every corner there’s a new twist in the story – from Beatrix Potter sketches to collections to naval paintings and Chinese porcelain – everything tells a story and everyone has left their mark.
Lavenham Guildhall
Set in the lovely village of Lavenham, the Guildhall of Corpus Christi tells the story of one of the best-preserved and wealthiest towns in Tudor England. When you step inside this fine timber-framed building, you'll feel the centuries melt away. You can discover the stories of the people who have used the Guildhall through its almost-500 years at the heart of its community,

Our friends at Christies Care provide a FREE exercise class for Family Carers in the Stowmarket area. While you’re attending this class they offer a FREE session where qualified carers will oversee the person you care for as they take part in activities including board games, crafts, puzzles and more.
Hotel stays with Carefree
Through Carefree you can access a 1 or 2 night hotel stay with a companion at hotels around the country, at a time and place that works for you .
