Our work with GP Surgeries
Our communities team work closely with GP Surgeries across Suffolk to help ensure family carers are identified at the earliest opportunity and help them achieve the ‘Carer Friendly GP Surgery’ award. This is awarded to GP surgeries for successfully undertaking the Carers GP Framework, having a Carers Champion and continuing to engage with Suffolk Family Carers.

Have you told your GP that you are a family carer? If not it is quick and easy to do so.
All GP practices will have a register of family carers so talk to a receptionist or practice manager to request they include you. They will then add this information to your patient record and help you get the support you need. Some GPs will have a separate register for young carers, so it is also a good idea to ask if this is available.
