Support In our Primary Schools

We have many primary schools in Suffolk that are now working with us to support their young carers.  Schools are becoming confident in identifying children who are young  carers and looking to see what support, if any, is needed.

Many are running groups or allowing us to go in to run them if they do not have capacity.

Often Arts and Crafts are used in groups as they are quite therapeutic,  a good way to give young carers a break,  time for them and a chance to chat about whatever they want whilst they mindfully craft.

During the summer term, one thing we did was to use paper cups  to talk about feelings. One cup was placed on another and the top cup rotated to reveal different emotional faces.

Our School Award shows recognition to schools that support young carers and this summer Ranelagh Primary and Gusford primary in Ipswich both reached the GOLD level.  Both schools work incredibly hard to support our young people and we are very proud of them.

Leaving so soon?

We hope you found what you were looking for, however,
if you didn’t we’d like to still offer you some support.
Please let us know how we can help.
