Street Art Day at National Horse Racing Museum

Once again we are thanking Sarah at the National Horse Racing Museum for funding a wonderful street art day for 20 young carers from Houldsworth Valley and St Louis Academy Primary schools. This is the first time these two groups of young carers have joined together, and it was lovely to see them having fun with each other.

The children came out of school for the day, and met with Ed, a Norwich based street artist. Ed took us through some of the history of street art, and started working with the children to show them different techniques and sparked their inspiration.

After a trip to see the horses, the groups got to work creating their own Newmarket inspired mural which will be displayed at the museum. The children then headed outside to use spray paints and stencils to create a piece of street art they could take home.
One teacher commented “I have never seen this child smile so much”.

Thank you to the schools and teaching staff for supporting the young carers with the trip.
