Thanks to a wonderful connection from our local supporters at Bury Abbey Rotary Club, we were able to work with Young People Afloat to provide young carers with the opportunity to learn how to sail.
They took to the water at Lackford Lakes for two evenings in June, finishing their course by going solo in their own sailing boat.
We did have one child who fell into the water – they went into school proudly sharing their story with friends the next day!
What a skill they have been able to explore, and the children also made good friends whilst there.
