These day passes can be reserved for FREE by any registered family carer, with each providing free entry to the Ickworth Estate for 2 adults and up to 6 children – adults are those aged over 18. Children are aged 5-17. Under 5s are free. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
About Ickworth Estate
With over 1800 acres of parkland, gardens and 26 miles of paths to enjoy, Ickworth Estate is the perfect place to get back to nature. Discover formal gardens, pleasure grounds, rolling Suffolk landscape and woodlands all which invite gentle strolls, long walks, runs, bike rides and picnics. Head into the Rotunda and see Ickworth’s array of treasures. Then stop off at one of our cafés to get a bite to eat and treat yourself in one of our shops.
Ickworth is the creation of Frederick Hervey, 4th Earl of Bristol (1730–1803), known as the Earl-Bishop. Extravagant and grand, Ickworth reflects his passion for classical Italian architecture and his ambition to create an art gallery.
Although much of his collection was confiscated by Napoleonic troops in Rome, today Ickworth contains an internationally important collection, with works by Titian, Gainsborough and Angelica Kauffman. Later generations continued the Earl-Bishop’s legacy, shaping Ickworth’s interiors.
The gardens have the ability to pull you in and delight you at every turn. Allow yourself to be led through an assortment of magical areas, from the winding Albana Woodland, to the gently curving Geraldine’s and Erskine’s Walks, or the immaculate Italianate garden which encircles the Rotunda.

Reserving our passes
Our passes are available FREE to all registered family carers. The pass covers standard admission but does not include any paid events
Please check opening hours before making your request as these may vary depending on season and events taking place at Ickworth House
Once we have received your request to reserve one of our passes for a day it will be reviewed by one of our staff who will then send you a confirmation email, along with further details on how to use the pass. Your request has not been approved until you have received this confirmation email. Other reservation requests cannot be submitted for your chosen date whilst this review is taking place. When completing your request please enter the names of all additional guests that will be visiting with you. This is to ensure that the correct guest passes are available for you.
Please note that due to demand for these passes we are not able to accept multiple requests to use within the same year. If you are unable to attend please ensure you cancel your visit using the link provided when making your reservation request. This is to ensure the pass is made available for other family carers to use, and also avoid disappointment when attempting to rebook.
Ickworth House may be closed in the case of adverse weather. Please check the National Trust website for any last minute changes. *Between March-November as much of the house will be as open as possible, depending on our volunteer numbers. ** House Tours take place at varying times between January-November and are bookable under the Things to see and do/Events page. House opening times may change at short notice, while we update our fire alarm system.
