Information Hub Volunteer

You’ll be answering calls to our Information Hub from family carers, professionals, neighbours or anyone connected to a family carer.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Answering calls to our Information Hub
  • Inputting registration and communication details onto our database.
  • Making onward internal referrals as necessary.
  • Checking messages on the information line answerphone and responding as appropriate.
  • Completing other admin tasks as appropriate.

This role suits you if you are: A confident communicator with a good telephone manner and great listening skills. You understand the need for confidentiality and commit to maintaining it. You have an understanding of the caring role and are able to cope with emotionally challenging conversations. You have basic computer skills, preferably including word processing and database experience, and the ability to record information accurately.

  • Be provided with the necessary induction, training, equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely
  • Be offered expenses to cover agreed travel costs between home and place of volunteering.
  • Regular support and supervision will be given.
