During the summer holidays we took some of the young carers to our very own caravan at Kessingland Park Dean Resort. We started off with the girls sleepover where they went out for an evening meal to the onsite restaurant, after that we went to the entertainment where they got to play games and join in with the mini disco. The girls ended the evening back at the caravan with yummy snacks and a mini pamper session.
The following day four boys joined the group where we took them to the outside swimming pool. It was lovely to see the eight of them all getting on and having so much fun splashing around. We then went back to the caravan where we had lunch and got stuck into some arts and crafts.
Unfortunately with time flying by it was time to say goodbye to the girls and the boys were ready for their very own sleepover. The boys explored the campsite by Go Karts which they loved. One boy said “The Go Karts were the best part of my trip away”. It was lovely to see all four boys getting on and developing their friendships which they had previously made at Lowestoft Young Carers Clubs.
The evening ended with the boys visiting the entertainment venue which tiered them out ready for bed. The boys had a relaxing morning with a lay in of 8am!! (Yes that’s right we made it past 7am). The boys ended their stay with us at the park where they said Goodbye to each other until they meet again.
