End of Term treats are just a snippet of the support schools offer the Young Carers in their schools. A personal thank-you from me (Sheree) who has enjoyed working with you all (including those not mentioned below) in the last year, you all work extremely hard to juggle your existing roles to meet the demands of supporting YCs. Thomas Gainsborough School (TGS)
Southwold Beach Day! 4th July 2019
Living on a Prayer and Hooked on a Feeling were two of the most memorable songs played whilst 9 YCs and staff voyaged into the great Southwold waters. But the fun didn’t stop there, their day was followed by sand, sea and sausages with special thanks to Mrs T’s for once again providing us with delicious food. The cake sale money raised from Carers Awareness Week paid for ice creams before departing.

Mildenhall College Academy
Macdonalds Trip! 16th July
Mildenhall College Academy took 23 students to MacDonald’s for their treat from the funds raised during a cake sale earlier this year. The school took two groups during school time to the local MacDonalds and was in ‘McLovin’ heaven! Super work team!

Newmarket Academy
Movie night with Pizza! 18th June
8 Young Carers enjoyed watching the Simpson’s Movie and Pizza with a game of Hide and Seek in the rain. The after school activity was from the funds raised earlier this year during Carers Awareness week, and they still have some money left over! It was a lovely treat and great fun to play hide and seek in the rain like big kids! (I’ll speak for myself)

Kimmys Zoo! 10th July
9 Young Carers at Thurston CC were exhilarated by the different creatures and animals at Kimmys Zoo. The activity was strongly supported by staff who were just as excited as the children. We all had the chance to pet a Sugar Glider, Snake, tarantula and much more!
Did you know? A Meerkat’s bark sounds like a ducks quack? We didn’t either until we met one #Meerquack!

Westley Middle
End of Term Pizza drop in! 17th July
6 Young Carers and staff celebrated a lunch time with pizza, music and fizzy pop. All the young carers enjoyed their pizza and sang along to the music – staff too! The Young Carers made a leaving gift for Mr Templeton who will be retiring end of term and read out lovely messages to him during an assembly.
