A group of young carers worked with Suffolk Family Carers at Mildenhall College Academy to explore ‘The Day in the life of a young carer’.
The workshop was written and created for young carers to explore what it is like being a young carer with a performance element at the end.
The workshop compromised of a mixture of confidence and trust building exercises including arts and crafts, singing and dancing as well as acting.
Having not known one another at the beginning, the young carers worked together to explore their experiences respectfully and took great care in one another’s experiences. The final pieces were based on characters that they made which were encouraged to explore in third person.
