The Connected Communities Team has been busy planning support it is able to offer during this winter period.
Connected Communities works with people over 65 who live in various areas of East Suffolk (East and West Waveney, Deben and Woodbridge, Wickham Market, Framingham and surrounding villages). We offer support not only to those feeling isolated or lonely, but also those who are struggling with other life issues. We can help support bereavement, money problems, housing concerns, low mood and long term health conditions.
Our team of Community Connectors work directly with each individual to find out what matters to them, to understand their issues and to come up with a plan to support them by linking them with services in their communities. We are able to offer appointments over the phone or via video call. We can also meet face to face where necessary, following all safety precautions.
Connected Communities is a mobile service thanks to the use of our own mobile home called ‘Vincent Van Go’. Vincent provides a safe and private meeting place to talk, and can come to you. The Connected Communities Team is here and ready to offer support throughout this Winter period and beyond.
In the last month one of our Community Connectors, Katie, has also been taking part in her own personal walking challenge. Katie is walking across the areas of East Suffolk covered by the Connected Communities Service. Katie aims to raise awareness of the work of Connected Communities and is also raising money for the Surviving Winter Appeal. You can keep up to date with Katie’s progress, and all the news from Connected Communities, by visiting our Facebook and Twitter accounts. Just search for SocPrescribeSFC.
