Promoting wellbeing among young carers in Europe

The EU-funded ME-WE project

We are excited to have been invited to participate in a European research project with Carers Trust and the University of Sussex.

The aim of the research is to evidence that wellbeing courses do have a positive impact on young carers’ wellbeing and helps build resilience and self-confidence.

We will be working with 4-6 local schools and colleges to deliver the Mental Health & Wellbeing (ME-WE) resilience building programme for young carers aged 15-17 years.  Our staff will be fully trained and accredited to deliver the programme in Suffolk schools.

The programme is evidence based and has been tested with young people of this age in Australia.  It is based on the DNA-v model.

Delivery of the programme will take place over this school year, commencing in January 2020.
