New Online Peer Support Groups – helping building Connections, combat loneliness, and create a family carer community.

Being a family carer can often be an isolating experience. The day-to-day responsibilities, emotional challenges, and the pressure of caring for a someone one can leave many family carers feeling alone and overwhelmed. But help is here. We are excited to announce the launch of new online peer support groups, Care to Chat, specifically designed for family carers around Suffolk

A Safe Space to Share and Connect

These new online peer support groups offer family carers the opportunity to meet with others who truly understand what they are going through. Whether you are caring for someone with a long-term illness, mental health difficulty or disability, these groups are a place where you can share your experiences, ask for information, and support each other through the highs and lows of being a family carer.

Why Join the Support Groups?

  • Share Experiences: Sometimes, the best way to cope with the challenges of caring for someone is simply by talking about it. Peer support groups provide an open, non-judgmental environment where you can talk about your experiences and gain perspective from others in a similar situation.
  • Learn and Grow: Every family carer has valuable insights into what works for them. By exchanging tips and information with other family carers, you may find new ways to manage stress, create balance, boost your wellbeing, which help you to continue in your caring role.
  • Combat Loneliness: Family Carers often spend hours each day providing care, which can lead to feelings of isolation. Connecting with others in similar situations can help alleviate loneliness and remind you that you are not alone.
  • Flexible and Accessible: The online format of these groups means you can attend from the comfort of your own home, making it easier to fit into your schedule. Whether you are looking for emotional support or practical information these sessions are here to support you at a time that suits you.
