In 2022, award‑winning author Onjali Q. Raúf released The Letter with the Golden Stamp, telling the story of Audrey – a young carer looking after her ill mother and younger siblings. During her school visits and events, Onjali began raising awareness of Young Carers and the urgent need for them to be properly recognised.
Fast forward to April 2025: Onjali is now Patron of Suffolk Family Carers and is campaigning harder than ever for the rights of Young Carers. She launched her postcard campaign, supporting wider work led by Carers Trust. Hundreds of signed postcards have already been sent directly to the Prime Minister – with hundreds more ready to go.

Our aim, with Onjali and Carers Trust is to gather thousands of postcards and signatures from people who believe in supporting Young Carers — and deliver them directly to 10 Downing Street to ensure they cannot be ignored.
