Celebrating a New Chapter in Support for Family Carers and Social Advocacy.
We are thrilled to announce that the acclaimed author and social justice advocate, Onjali Q. Raúf, has agreed to support Suffolk Family Carers as a patron. This exciting partnership aims to raise awareness about the vital role of family carers and to champion their tireless work within our communities. A patron for a charity is a well-known individual who lends their name and support, to help to raise awareness, promote the organisations mission and garner support. Onjali joins Nicci Gerrard, author and journalist, who is also a patron of Suffolk Family Carers and the founder of John’s Campaign.
Onjali Q. Raúf is renowned for her unwavering commitment to social justice and advocacy. Her thought-provoking books and initiatives have inspired countless individuals to take action for a fairer, more compassionate world. As a patron of Suffolk Family Carers, Onjali will bring her passion and dedication to raise awareness of family carers, ensure they receive the recognition and assistance they deserve.
Onjali shared her enthusiasm for the new role: “Family carers are the unsung heroes of our society, often working tirelessly and selflessly to care for their loved ones. I am deeply honoured to support Suffolk Family Carers and to help shine a light on the incredible work they do. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of those who give so much of themselves to others.“
Kirsten Alderson, CEO of Suffolk Family Carers, says: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Onjali Q. Raúf as our patron. After first met Onjali at our AGM last November, she spoke so passionately about young carers and how her latest book, The Letter with the Golden Stamp, helps to raise awareness of young carers and highlight their incredible efforts and challenges. We couldn’t just leave the opportunity of approaching Onjali to support us.
We look forward to working together to raise awareness and to provide even greater support to those who need it most.”
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for Suffolk Family Carers. With Onjali’s support, we are committed to amplifying the voices of family carers and ensuring they are visible, valued, supported and connected.
We invite you to join us in welcoming Onjali Q. Raúf to the Suffolk Family Carers family and to support our ongoing efforts to advocate for and empower family carers.
Together, we can make a difference and ensure unpaid family carers are visible, valued, supported and connected.
