John is part of the Co-op friendship group and Suffolk Family Carers have been their charity for the past year. They held a cake decorating evening, John opened his garden in the summer and sold vegetables and they also had a draw. He is very grateful for the help provided to him over the years from Suffolk Family Carers and Dawn in SAGES.
“It was September 2018 when we had our first meeting of the coming year and we ask for a charity to be nominated. I put forward Suffolk Family Carers and as they had been some connection with them it was willingly put forward and accepted, so we had our year of fundraising. The main event was a cream tea and draw raising £76 and with other donations we made a total of £132.60. I am so pleased to do this for Suffolk Family Carers from the early days which seemed quite daunting we have built up a really good relationship with Suffolk Family Carers and my wife and myself have benefited from various courses Suffolk Family Carers have held. All though my wife is now in a nursing home, I still have the comfort of being supported by the Talk and Support team as well as other events that take place.”
