I have been hearing about an online self-assessment. What is it and how do I access it?

Suffolk County Council have introduced a new, exciting way for family carers to complete their cares assessment. As you are a family carer, you are now able to complete your own carers assessment online. The form can be saved and re-visited for up to 30 days, enabling you to complete the assessment in your own time, around your caring responsibilities.

A carers assessment looks at your caring role, what is working well and how caring may impact your ability to achieve your goals. It also helps you to consider what support you currently have available from friends, family, neighbours and your local community and how you could use this to improve your situation.

Once you have completed the form a member of the team at Suffolk County Council, or a Trusted Partner organisation such as ourselves, will be in touch to further discuss the information you have provided, identify what is important to you and explore what is available to support you in your caring role.

If you do not feel this is the right method for you then you are still able to request a carers assessment by contacting Customer First on 0800 917 1109 or via the live chat option on their website.
