On 28th January 2020 Ormiston Denes Academy took part in a PSHE lesson which was based around body image.
This workshop was called ‘I Am’ and was created for Young Carers Week. 40 young people engaged in the workshop by taking part in discussions and group activities. The group were able to come up with positives and negative comments about their body image. We then spoke about how we could change the negative thoughts into positive comments.
When looking at the DNA-V model we asked the group to design an unhelpful adviser. This was to allow them to notice the adviser more clearly to help them decide what they choose to listen to.
We ended the session on social media impacts to our body image and our self-esteem which led to some amazing discussions.
Well done to all the group for a fun filled session!
