Hello 🙂
I hope everyone is doing well and is safe during these uncertain times. I wanted to share a little bit about my story and how this incident has affected me, as well as what I have been up to, to give you guys some inspiration and to know you aren’t alone in this.
When the virus began to speculate, I was a bit worried about how this would affect my school work. Like many of you, I had mocks at the beginning of the year, which is a difficult and stressful time for everyone, especially those nearing the end of their studies and preparing for the future. It’s hard juggling revising, homework, helping at home and seeing friends, which is why it is important to make time for yourself and the things you enjoy as well as working hard.
The day the school closures were announced I was quite shocked. What did this mean for the rest of my school work? Did I still need to continue studying at home? The answers to these questions are still a little vague but you can find out more information if you are expecting a final grade this summer here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/how-gcses-as-a-levels-will-be-awarded-in-summer-2020
I am grateful that I chose to prepare well for my mocks, it is a good reminder that I should always try to be the best I can be. At home, I have continued to expand on my photography work because it is an art form I really enjoy, it stops me from being bored and over thinking or worrying about what the future might look like. I have even taken up yoga, it has always been my dream to touch my toes or do the splits!
Thankfully the weather has been mostly kind to us over the past weeks, seeing the sun out during the day brightens my mood, even if I don’t get a chance to go out in it much. Today I overslept my alarm and didn’t wake up until late, but that’s okay. I am just trying to be the best me, doing activities I like as well as trying some new ones, but also staying in touch with family an friends.
I hope that some of you can relate to my experience and know that we are all in this together. What I am looking forward to the most is being able to see my friends and family again, having some summer time to BBQ before I have to begin thinking about studying again!
