On 8th August Suffolk Family Carers took 16 young carers from across the county to Darsham Country Centre. When arriving some of the children were a little bit nervous due to it being their first night away from home, but it wasn’t long until they all started making friends and the house was full of laughter with them all having fun.
The children loved that the house was next to the train track so they could watch the trains going past each time. The children also enjoyed playing games in the garden along with doing arts and crafts in the house. Soon it was time for dinner where they got to enjoy tasty chicken wraps and with some children even going back for more !!
As the night came to a close the children enjoyed a sleepover with their new friends and were sad to be going home the following morning. One Child said “ I wish we could stay longer” and another saying “ I was nervous about coming but I have made so many new friends”.
Suffolk Family Carers would also like to say a massive thank you to Sonya our Volunteer who helped during this activity alongside Sue and Rachel.
