Carers Week 2023

Carers Week 2023 will soon be with us, taking place between 5th & 11th June. This year's theme is ‘Recognising and supporting carers in the community’

Suffolk Family Carers will be acting as the co-ordinator for Carers Week across Suffolk in 2023. We work with a wide range of charities and partners to recognise and celebrate the important contribution made by Suffolk’s estimated 65,000 carers.

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to provide support for carers, run activities, highlight the vital role carers play in our communities and draw attention to just how important caring is.

As this year we are able to get back into the community we have organised a range awareness and information sessions across the county to help us identify Family Carers that were previously unknown by us, or may not recognise themselves as a family carer.

In addition we have a series of fun events for family carers
