Face to Face: whats that then??????
We have been luckily enough due to the nature of this club, to continue Bolters at the Ready during this weird old time.
The first meeting was in October Half-term and then again a few weeks ago (just after Lockdown part 2 had stopped).
You could see by enthusiasm of those that came, that this was needed. Not just by them, but by their parents and also by us.
The club members come in with their own agenda in mind, some just to paint, some to battle, which makes the introduction of new members easy. As lead, or as one member said ‘Chapter Master’, I could spend time introducing them to the club and the game, before letting them go free and engage.
At the last club In December we had an Age of Sigmar battle take place, where the forces of good, Stormcasters, outwitting a joint force of Chaos warriors and Orcs. It helped that the young person in in change of the Stormcasters managed to persuade the alliance of Chaos and Orcs to turn on each other. Very Sneaky.
On the other side of the hall, a very informative Warhammer 40,000 battle was taking place. The 2 newbies or ‘Scouts’ were being tutored by more experienced Battle Brothers in the ‘art of war’. The information being passed was a mixture of very informative to the finer points of Space Marine lore, which I believe at times gave the Scouts brain-ache.
By the end of the day, the young people went home carrying freebies of old White Dwarves (magazine), posters, transfers and even some miniatures t keep them going over the festival period.
What does 2021 have in store???
So starting on Saturday 9th January, the club has a new home. We will be running the club at Kesgrave Millennium Jubilee Hall. Parentmail invites will be going out next week. Of course everything does depend on COVID, and any restrictions that may apply. The club will run approx. every 5 weeks, on a Saturday, with the potential for extra days in the holidays.
I am planning on launching the postponed competition, delayed from earlier this year, with potentially greater prizes.
We are hoping to launch our new club Hoodies, which will have a young person designed logo, a name, and maybe a few other embellishments. So watch this space!!

Due to the continued Xenos invasion, and to maintain the safety of our warriors quarantine will be enforced during January 2021. So there will be no face to face meetings.
