A Poem from me to you

I know you may be feeling anxious as it’s the first day of school,
and how you want it to be summer playing in a pool.
I am hopeful the steps you are taking,
will provide you with some joy
And all this COVID fuss will go someplace else to annoy!

You started all worried and look at you now!
You made it through a pandemic, wear a smile and take a bow.
It’s not been easy with all this online stuff,
but we’ve done what Boris told us to, to get through the rough.

Take this time to be proud of yourself and know you can do it,
It will take some time to get used to but please don’t quit.

Soon you will share laughter with friends you have missed,
and forget that dreadful COVID even did exist!

Yes we have some time left for it all to disappear,
but hold onto your memories and loved ones who are near.

For it will take the platform we have all created and made,
to help us through this next step which we hope makes COVID fade.

Your bravery and creativity is one to not forget,
You have now built the resilience to which this experience has set.

Take this poem as armour to your first steps in school,

Remember to keep safe and always remain cool!

Best wishes,
