My Potential
Every one of our young carers is unique, special and full of amazing potential.
Like a seed, you have the ability to grow and achieve great things.
You will have skills that you are not even aware of yet.
You may have the ability to be a great dancer, scientist, musician or become amazingly kind, generous or thoughtful.
Like the seed that has potential to become a flower, our potential is stored inside us and we need to discover what that potential is.
Our potential is in our hands and we often need others (parents, teachers, youth leaders) to help us work out our potential.
As the seed needs care, soil, sunlight and water to grow so we too need care, encouragement, love and opportunities for us to grow and reach our potential.
Try growing a seed and watch what happens
Plant seed 1cm deep in a pot of compost.
You can use ordinary soil from your garden if no compost
No flower pot, no problem, use an empty food tin or juice carton
(just put a couple of holes on the bottom for drainage) – see photo
