Thursday 21st November 2019 was Carers Rights Day and our staff worked in partnership with Ipswich Hospital, West Suffolk Hospital and Turning Point to hold information events to engage with family carers and help them get the support they need from us, other relevant organisations and their rights as a carer. Suffolk Family Carers’ Advisers listened to, signposted, advised and supported many family Carers on a very busy day at the Hospitals. Hospital staff were also able to gain valuable information to help them support carers in their roles.
We held a drop-in day at our Claydon office, where carers came in to speak to our advisers. Family carers found the information they received useful and were grateful for the chat they were able to have with our advisers.
