Scholarship for our Young carer, Layken Akehurst, offered by Temple Freestyle Karate following a four week activity where our young carers had an opportunity to try out the sport.
Steve at Temple Freestyle was so impressed with her determination and potential that he offered her a scholarship with them. Temple provided her kit and she was off!
She flew through her first grading – Layken, who always presents as a quiet and shy girl, is gaining confidence.
Her progress has continued and during August she had another grading that went really well.
