Thank you so much to The Ipswich Rotarians with support from the Suffolk Scouting and Guide organisations who organised a very successful day for Young Carers aged 9-12 on Saturday 13th July. Over 50 young people came to Hallowtrees Scout Camp to experience a day of Abseiling, Climbing, Go-karting and Archery.
“This is the first time in my life I have done this ( abseiling) . The scariest bit is leaning off the edge and taking the first step”- Joshua.
“Crate stacking is scary because as I was about to reach the top the stack fell. It was so wobbly but I’m glad I had a go”- Lyla.
“The go karts are fun. I was first but then I crashed into a cone so I was last”- Morgan.
“ Hallowtrees its fun but also it helps my mum get better because when me and my sister go somewhere mum gets the rest she needs so she can be with when we get home”- Reece.
“ Coming to Hallowtrees is mainly about having fun with friends. It’s nice to hang out with people who are understanding and have a day away from who you care for. We don’t have to talk about caring all the time to know we understand each other”- Bessie.
