We have stars among us!

Amid candelabras, fairy lights and stars, the nominees for the Babergh & Mid Suffolk STARS award were celebrated for all the support they provide to the local community.

On Thursday 18th October, the nominees of the Babergh & Mid Suffolk STARS awards gathered in a beautiful setting where the winners for each category would be revealed….

Our Information Line & Talk and Support Volunteers were among those nominated for the category of Community Group of the Year and we are delighted to say that they won!

This award celebrates the amazing work that our volunteers do to support family carers right across Suffolk. They give up their time for free to answer calls from family carers and be a friendly voice talking to family carers who are isolated and cut off due to their caring role.

We also nominated Irene Davis, an independent volunteer who works with Suffolk Family Carers, for the Community Champion of the Year award for all the time she gives to family carers and for all the groups and social gatherings she has provided as well as the funds she has raised to support Suffolk Family Carers for a number of years.

We are pleased to say Irene also won the award for this category!

We are delighted and very proud of the work our volunteers do and it was great to spend the evening celebrating this with some of them. Congratulations to everyone who was nominated and who won an award and a huge thank you to Babergh & Mid Suffolk for organising and hosting the ceremony.
