Last week, Sarah Hazelwood and Mandy King – Family Carer Advisers at Ipswich Hospital, joined the DJ at Hospital Radio to talk about how we help family carers at the hospital as well as what we have planned for Carers Rights Day at Ipswich Hospital.
Carers Rights Day is an annual event dedicated to ensuring family carers are aware of their rights as an unpaid carer. At Suffolk Family Carers we believe family carers should always be aware of their rights, whether they are new to caring or have been supporting a family member or friend for many years. Carers Rights Day empowers you with information and support. It helps you feel confident asking for what you need and to challenge things when your rights are not being met. On the 23rd November the Hospital Team will be in the Outpatients Car Park from 10am-3pm with our motorhome, where they will be available to discuss caring roles and the services we offer.
Our Motorhome also visits Ipswich Hospital from 10am-3pm on the 1st Wednesday of every month, to give Family Carers the opportunity to talk about their caring roles and for hospital staff to ask for advice.
