Returning to School

We are aware that some of you will be returning to school next week and during the month of June so thought it would be helpful for you to hear from young carers who have been attending school during lockdown.

“School has been really good, not many children there but they had been doing a lot of fun things, one of the teachers had even brought their dog in”

“It was really good to see some of their friends”

Some tips to remember:

Talk about and share how you are feeling. It is very likely that others (including the teachers) may be feeling the same as you.

Ask yourself what part of school you have missed and make a list. It is these things that will help to build your excitement about returning.

Your teacher has missed you and they can’t wait to see you again

School will be different but remember, different isn’t necessarily a bad thing. There will be some changes that have been made that you really like and that are better than before.

We can’t wait to hear how you get on and would really like to share your experiences to help other families. In a media full of negatively it is so important that we support each other and share the positive messages we receive.

Please send any ‘returning to school’ insights to help reassure others to hello@suffolkfamilycarers.org

Leaving so soon?

We hope you found what you were looking for, however,
if you didn’t we’d like to still offer you some support.
Please let us know how we can help.
