14. B) 240 mph The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest bird and the fastest member of the animal kingdom. Its great speed is achieved during its hunting dive-bombing-style stoop, wherein it soars to a great height, then dives steeply reaching speeds of up to 240 mph. The Peregrine has long pointed wings which help to direct it as it take these powerful dives. It also has a type of nasal covering that diverts the high-pressure air from entering and damaging its lungs. The Golden Eagle is in second place and although less agile and manoeuvrable, it can rival the Peregrine Falcon’s stooping and gliding speeds, reaching up to 200 mph, while diving.

A) 309 metres It’s construction officially completed in 2013, The Shard, also referred to as the Shard of Glass, is a 95-level skyscraper, designed by the Italian architect Renzo Piano and is currently the tallest building in Western Europe. There are around 11,000 different glass panels which make up The Shard – likely making it one of the hardest window-washing jobs on the planet! Apparently the team of six window cleaners abseil from the top down, cleaning one side of the building a week, meaning that every month, they have to begin again. The Shard is also one of the most responsibly built structures in the UK with around 95% of its construction thought to be made from recycled material.
