Young carers at our two Lowestoft clubs spent the sessions working in groups to firstly follow a recipe to then cook and decorate their own pancakes.
After clearing up in the kitchen, the groups participated in a ‘pancake treasure hunt’, had traditional pancake races and created some amusing pancake adverts.
We are fortunate that our YC Peer Leaders have now completed their training and are actively involved with our service. YC Peer Leader Abbie attends our Lowestoft Primary Club each month and works alongside our Advisers to plan activities in response to what the participants need and enjoy.
“It is great that the children know my name now and when I come to club and they ask me to help them with craft activities. I can walk to the club straight from school so don’t need to worry about how to get here. I then stay on afterwards at the club for older carers so I get my own break as well and spend time with my friends.”
