On Tuesday 8th December 12 young carers attended our Bury club online. In this session we were generously donated 17 craft boxes by Alana Edgeworth a trainee at Palace House, Newmarket. Some craft boxes were given to siblings too so they could join in on the fun! The craft boxes were carefully created by an Artist Julia Lockhart who put together some thoughtful crafts for the young carers to create a Jockey and a Race horse. Who we are – lockARTS
Before we got stuck in with the crafts we came up with our Race horse name based on our favourite colours, below are some of our creations!

The young carers learnt facts about Palace House one being that the queen has visited numerous times! We also learnt that after 3-5 years of a
racehorse’s career they can go into retirement and be looked after with other roles or jobs. We were very interested in the Palace House, some young carers not having been before, are keen to take a trip and visit!
