Mid Suffolk District Council Chairman donates £960

The Chairman of Mid Suffolk District Council presented a total of £960 to Suffolk Family Carers following a year of fundraising as he was re-elected to serve as Chairman for a second year.

Councillor Haley, said: “It is a huge privilege to be re-elected to serve Mid Suffolk as Chairman for a second year. Through my fundraising in this role, I have already had the opportunity to support two outstanding charities in Mid Suffolk: the work of Suffolk Family Carers across Suffolk transforms thousands of lives every year”.

Our Chief Executive Kirsten Alderson added: “We are delighted to have been selected as the chosen charity by Mid Suffolk District Council Chairman, who has raised £960 for our Young People’s Service. This money is invaluable to us, enabling us to do so much more with our young carers. In particular, this sum will help us run our Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, which we are doing this year for the first time. This directly supports 14 young carers who will learn vital skills, build confidence and self-esteem and have a break from their caring roles.”

Councillor Haley also chose the Museum of East Anglian Life as his other charity donation, to which he also donated £960.
