In 2019 the Norfolk and Waveney Health and Care Partnership set out strategies for Adult Mental Health and Children and Young People’s Mental Health. Since then, we’ve all lived through a pandemic which has led to a significant increase in demand for mental health support alongside increased severity of cases.
The health and care act has also introduced Integrated care Systems. Integrated care systems (ICSs) are partnerships of organisations that come together to plan and deliver joined-up health and care services and to improve the lives of people who live and work in their area.
Considering these changes, Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System want to make sure that the plans put in place in 2019 based on what people told us still meet the needs of the people of Norfolk and Waveney. And we want to hear your views.
Do our plans still meet today’s needs?
Our priorities for Children’s and Adult’s (all ages) mental health are to:
- Increase our focus on prevention and wellbeing
- Support the management of mental health in primary care, community and education settings
- Provide effective 24/7 support to people who are in crisis
- Ensure effective in-patient care for those that need it most
- Ensure the whole system is focused on working in an integrated way
- Improve access to services and ensure they are easier to navigate and move through
Delivering our priorities will mean that people will:
- have prompt access to mental health support for themselves and their carers
- receive the best quality integrated services to achieve recovery and good mental health services, delivered in the right way, in the right place and at the right time
- receive the best care and support when experiencing a mental health crisis
Please take part in a short survey. Your responses will be used to help us understand if the priorities are still correct and adapt plans for improvement going forward if necessary. (The survey runs until 19 February 2023.)
