Suffolk Family Carers are pleased to be supporting Suffolk County Council to deliver the Cassius service where we are able to help with supplying assistive technology to vulnerable adults and their families. There are a range of products available to help people whilst also allowing their independence.
This includes devices like a Smartwatch which can call for help in an emergency and can create a ‘geofence’ which is way of keeping track of when the wearer has gone outside of their usual area.
Other products include a falls pendant, video monitoring system, reminder clocks and other useful devices. We can help you find the technology that best suits your situation and give advice on how to use it.
Suffolk Family Carers can demonstrate these devices via our Social Prescribing programmes – Connected Communities and Connect for Health . We have most products available from Cassius (a technology service by Suffolk County Council) and they are provided free of charge. There may be some subscription charges for some of the products, but this is means tested and community connectors will be able to help you with forms for this. The Cassius service if for anyone over the age of 18 with a range of health and care needs.
This technology is designed to help people live independently at home and give carers peace of mind. Come and give it a go!
