Getting things done!

Hi. How are you keeping?

I have been asked to write a blog for the ‘Your Space’ pages and I am finding it hard to get started.

In theory it should be easy, it doesn’t have to be long and it can be on a variety of subject –as long as relevant to the people that look on the pages. So what’s the problem!!!!!!

I can imagine that most of you have felt like this before, the last minute rush to get an assessment in – this blog is late already, the motivation to do revision for your exams/tests or the worry if it’s not good enough, you may have to do it again.

Is there an easy answer? Of course not, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this.

Are there tips and ideas to help? Yes there is. The challenge is finding the one that works for you. Here’s a few to get you started.

  • Make a timetable or a ‘to do’ list – prioritise based on importance or when the task needs to be completed.
  • Get ideas down. Whether is writing whatever comes into you head as it comes, or in a particular order, record your ideas
  • Sort your environment out. Clear workspace, minimal distractions, the right time of day for you.
  • Break it down. Don’t try and do it all at once. Break the subject into bite size pieces and then focus on 1 task at a time.
  • Take breaks. Keep your energy levels up.

This is the tip of the iceberg. You can find plenty of books, self help lists all of the internet, just don’t over complicate things. Keep it simple.

Good luck with whatever tasks you are undertaking.
