Thank you to a young carer for their suggestion doing an activity on football. Below we have a short football session that you could do with your family members or friends.
What you need:
- Ball.
- Cones – this can be anything you have around the house.
- Yourself and a family member or a friend.
When exercising it is important to make sure you warm up. Stand in a big space and stretch out wide and make sure you don’t touch anyone. Make sure you have some water throughout.
Warm Up:
- Run on spot for 1 minute
- Jump up and down for 1 minute
- High Knees for 1 minute
- Do 10 star jumps
- Side steps up and down for 1 minute
Passing:
- Pass the football to your partner stop the ball with your foot. Pass back do this 20 times.
- Next Pass the ball left to right foot and then pass ball to partner do this 20 times.
Dribbling:
- Use the cones. Place one cone one end of the garden the other a short distance apart. Start at one cone and dribble the ball up to the other cone. Go round the cone and dribble to partner. Do this 5 times each.
- For this next drill dribble the ball and your partner has to try and tackle and receive the ball off you before you get to the other cone.
Shooting:
- To end this fun filled football session you can practice your shooting skills. This can be done by making a goal with the cones and one person is the goal keeper while the other person tries to shoot and score goals.
