It’s understandable some of you may be feeling anxious about the spread of coronavirus, and in particular have worries regarding your family members who may be at increased risk. If you are feeling worried or anxious then that’s okay, it’s perfectly natural to worry about your health and the health of the person you care for. However, it is important to keep your worries in perspective too.

What Are Suffolk Family Carers Doing?
In Young People’s Service we currently are able to offer all of our usual services and we are asking staff to remain cautious and vigilant.
We are asking staff to check their temperature on a daily basis before carrying out any visits. If you have a new cough, a fever or who have been in close contact with someone displaying symptoms not to attend any YC Clubs or activities.
What about if the situation gets worse?
Suffolk Family Carers have plans in place to minimise any disruption to our services. We hope that this means you will still be able to access support but it might be in a different way to what you are used to. For example, you might speak to a YC or YAC adviser over the phone instead of meeting them in school. If our services are affected in any way we will communicate this with young people, families and professionals as soon as possible via our website.
Please be reassured that we will continue to respond to these challenging circumstances with everyone’s health and wellbeing in mind.
