On Friday 4th July, our Committee Chairperson Millie and I had the opportunity to attend the SNEE ‘Can Do’ Health and Care Awards 2025
Millie had volunteered to be a member of the judging panel for the Supporting Young People Award, which celebrates those working to help young people from our diverse and disadvantaged communities to overcome the barriers they face, to build on their strengths and resilience to live healthy, safe and meaningful lives.
The role required Millie to read through a large number of very strong applications prior to coming together with other members of the panel to agree the winner. After putting in so much time for the judging phase, Millie then said she would be happy to attend the ceremony to hand the prizes to the winners and runners up.
Millie was a natural, no apparent nerves on stage in front of a very crowded audience!
I asked Millie of her reflections of the ceremony and she said she was really pleased she attended as it was great to learn about so many different services and the work of individuals across Suffolk. It certainly was an inspirational afternoon. Winners of all the awards will be announced via their website soon.
