Bawdsey Manor PGL Residential

On 11th April Suffolk Family Carers took 20 young people on a residential to Bawdsey Manor PGL.

When the children were arriving we had a mix of different emotions from each of them. For some it was their first time away from home and for others they didn’t know anyone else.

Over the first couple of hours of being there ALL the young carers started laughing and making friendships. Over the three days we were there the young carers took part in a variety of different activities like archery, rock climbing, zip wire and Jacob’s ladder. The young carers supported each other and worked as a team throughout the residential.

The young carers left the residential feeling proud and having big smiles on their faces from achieving new experiences and making new friends. One young carer shared “I have made lots of new friends and overcome my fear of heights”

The PGL team at Bawdsey manor said “it was a pleasure being with them and I have really enjoyed working with them as they are very polite children
