The Suffolk Family Carers Partnership Board, along with partners, are co-producing the initial stage of the first Suffolk All Age Carers Strategy. Development of priorities and opportunity to have your say. Between February 2022 and May 2022, 54 Young Carers and 28 Adult Carers have so far been involved in the development of this strategy.
More carers will be contacted in the future through groups, surveys and further co-production. Three key questions were asked during the development of the strategy using a ‘Signs of Safety’ approach:
- What is working well?
- What are you worried about?
- What needs to happen?
Focus groups were initially set up, and carers advised that they are busy caring and do not want further meetings, and people need to work with their existing groups.
From the data gathered, and working with the consultation team, carers voices were heard, and the priorities developed.
There will now be a formal consultation period. To take part a website will be set up with the link will be widely available across various social media.
- A link to the draft strategy
- Adult Carers survey
- Young Carers Survey
The dates for the consultation are still to be set, but it is hoped this will be held over the summer. We understand your time is valuable. Please be assured that the contribution and input you provide leads to confidence that the voice of carers will be heard in the development of the Suffolk All Age Carers Strategy.
The launch of the final version of the strategy is planned for October 2022, and then development of the action plan will follow.
