In June Donna White & Julie Reid hosted a Young Carers celebration afternoon during national carers week. The school provided the students with treats and planned a summer activity including outdoor games for July, we are looking forward to this fabulous day!
Kessingland
Megan Draper hosted a themed session for Mental Health Awareness Week running a young carers session around ‘community’ together with the young carers they explored the meaning of community and had some much-needed time out to colour, chat and play board games. It was a lovely treat after the year 6s had finished their SATs!
Northfield
Northfield hosted their first Network meeting for all Primary schools to attend, Bev Leech along with Mel Tindsley achieved their Gold Award for the school and has been independently running their lovely school treats for young carers as well as a young carers group across the year.
Gunton
Debbie Brooks hosted a Young Carers Lunch club with an option to bring your own friend. This was a fantastic turn out and young carers enjoyed having the opportunity to play classic board games and have some down time with arts and crafts
Dell
Sally Berrecloth alongside the support of Mrs Westrup has appointed two Young Carer Ambassadors who are proudly responsible for raising awareness and supporting their peers in their school. The school has a new community room which we are excited to plan some young carer sessions in the future!
Beccles, Albert Pye & Roman Hill
Work hard to support young carers in their school by hosting Young Carer Group sessions and raising the profile of young carers in their school with assemblies, CPD sessions and general signposting.
