Young Carers in West Suffolk were thrilled to return to the Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds for another unforgettable pantomime experience – this year’s spectacular performance of Rapunzel! This special outing was made possible thanks to the generous support of Bury Abbey Rotary Club, whose funding ensures our young carers can enjoy this much-loved annual tradition.
From the moment the curtain rose, the children were captivated by the lively music, hilarious jokes, and interactive fun. They sang along, shouted out with the crowd, and shared plenty of laughter. For many, this was more than just a show – it was a rare chance to take a break from their caring responsibilities and simply enjoy being children.
The excitement didn’t stop there! Two of our group were invited on stage to join the cast for the pantomime dance – and they performed with confidence and huge smiles in front of the audience. During the interval, everyone was treated to gift bags and delicious ice creams, adding an extra sprinkle of magic to the day.
We are incredibly grateful to Bury Abbey Rotary Club for their fundraising efforts, and to the Theatre Royal team for being such welcoming hosts. Thanks to their kindness, our young carers were able to create wonderful memories, make new friends, and experience the joy of live theatre.
