Clare Billings-Deed, Workshops Facilitator tells us about the Celebration Afternoon Tea Party her and her team held during Carers Week.
On the Wednesday of Carer’s Week 2024 Suffolk Family Carer’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Service held a Celebration Tea Party for Family Carers who had attended our workshops over the previous 12 months.
27 Family Carer’s attended and took part in a singing session with Music In Our Bones, practiced some wellbeing activities, were treated to a slap-up afternoon tea (kindly provided by Andrew Doherty Manager at Tesco Stowmarket) and went home with wellbeing raffle prizes and pamper party-bags!
A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all, if the big smiles were anything to go by!
Our ‘Put-Yourself-On-The-Map’ activity showed just how isolated some Suffolk Family Carers really are and so it was lovely that they were able to take a little time out from their busy caring roles and connect with each other. Here’s what some of our party-goers had to say:
A big thankyou to Andy from Stowmarket Tesco, East of England CO-OP, Tracy from Music In Our Bones, our two volunteers from Fram Farmers, SFC Volunteer Joyce and Staff from the MHWBS for helping to make the afternoon a great success!
