Lowestoft Crabbing

During the summer holidays Rachel, Sue and Sonya took a group of young carers to Walberswick to take part in a crabbing activity. The young carers arrived eager to catch lots of crabs. They worked in pairs to catch the crabs, and would take it in turns to use the line and net. The children were patient with the crabs as sometimes it took them longer to be caught. However, the children stuck with it and managed to catch over 20 crabs per group.

Due to most of the children not knowing each other it was lovely to see everyone engaging, being supportive and making new friendships throughout the activity. One child said “ I have enjoyed this activity as I have never done this before” another child said “Coming to these activities is fun and I get to make friends”
