Lowestoft Primary Club came together and took part in a fun online art session. Each of the children received their art pack through the post which included everything they needed to get creative. The first activity was to make a bird feeder, the children used pens or resources which they found around the house to decorate them in any style that they wanted. Some of the young carers even got into the Christmas spirit and used tinsel. We then slotted the pieces together which created the bird feeder and threaded some string so the bird feeder can hang from a tree or a hook outside in the garden.
The next activity that the young carers made was a paper plate owl. If you would like to create an owl please follow instructions below.
What you will need:
Paper Plate
Yellow card
Googly Eyes/ Pen
Glue
Scissors
Step by step guide to making a paper plate owl:
- First take your paper plate and cut two semi circles each side of the paper plate. This will leave you with two pieces of paper plate which you will need to create the wings.
- Next make some ears for your owl by cutting a rectangle shape from the top of the plate which will leave you with two ears.
- Then make lots of small slits on bottom of the owls body and bottom of the wings. This will create the owls feathers.
- Next Glue the wings to the back of the owl.
- Finally add the googly eyes and decorate your owl in any way that you would like.
